Review : N&N Infinate Playlist

This movie was impressive, Nick and Nora's Infinate Playlist is about two teens living in New York City. On a wild and fun Friday night they were forced into eachothers lives. This movie is a love story with nonstop laughs. I came into the theater thinking that this movie was going to suck, but I loved it. It was one of the best movies i have seen in a long time. This movie is hillarious, cute(yes thats right i said it) and adventurous. The plot is about a teen named Nick who is the only straight guy in his band. He had just broken up with his girlfriend who he had not gotten over. They live in new york city and everyone loves the music scene. On a friday night Nick and Nora happen to go to a club where many small bands are performing and by chance get stuck with eachother for the rest of the night. The plot follows these 2 throughout the night as they search for Nora's drunk friend who ran away from the club. You follow the group all around New York City and many crazy events occur. I highly recommend that if you get the chance, SEE THIS MOVIE!

Mr Pres

I would want to say congrats to Obama for his victory in yesterdays election. I would first want to ask him how he plans on rebuilding our economy because at the current time that is my biggest concern. I would hope he has a good plan to do so. Second I would like to ask him how he plans to change the way we do things in order to maintain a stable economy so that we may thrive for a long period of time and do not encounter the frauds in the major companies again. I would ask him what he plans to do with our space program, and how much he will commit to NASA. I am very interested in finding out more about our solar system to help us understand others. Of course I will ask him how he will better our relations with other countries because that will be a big issue, especially with a new presidential commitee.

Free Blog

Tomorrow is going to be sweet, because I'm going to Northfield with some friends and going to visit St. Olaf for halloween. We will be dressing up and going to a club called...i forgot what its called, but its having a halloween party. Then we will be going to parties on campus and driving home around 1ish. Saturday, i don't know what i am doing...probrably just relaxing because i have had a really tough week. Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday I dont get home till 930, so I am basically gone for 13 hours on those days because I work for 4 and a half hours right after school. Lastnight I had to write a 5-page essay for Mass Media so that took up my WHOLE wednesday night. So this week has been really exausting, and I am excited for halloween and this weekend.

Love Poem

Beautiful Dreamer
Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me,

Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee;
Sounds of the rude world heard in the day,
Lull'd by the moonlight have all pass'd away!

Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song,
List while I woo thee with soft melody;
Gone are the cares of life's busy throng.

Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea,
Mermaids are chaunting the wild lorelie;
Over the streamlet vapors are borne,

Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn.
Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart,
E'en as the morn on the streamlet and sea;
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart,

Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

By Stephen Foster

I believe the theme of this poem is a positive one. It describes how much this person loved the "Beautiful Dreamer". It uses powerful words and metaphors to help describe how meaningful the Beautiful Dreamer is. The author is showing how love possesses him to think about such things.

One example of Metaphor would be in the line that says
"Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart,
E'en as the morn on the streamlet and sea;
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart"
He uses a sea and clouds to represent sorrow and mourning.

Poetry

love is a place
& through this place of
love move
(with brightness of peace)
all places

yes is a world
& in this world of
yes live
(skilfully curled)all worlds

I picked this poem because its simple and pretty easy to understand. I like the fact that E.E. Cummings says move through love as if it were a place. And when in that place move with brightness of peace. The title is pretty basic but works for the poem, it tells you that love is a place, and thats what the poem is about. I think that E.E. uses imagery in this poem because he sets up love, and yes as a place in his poem. It may seem almost impossible to visualize such a general thing but he is making you imagine. There is a pretty nuetral tone in this poem, I did get a sense that E.E. is trying to just give his reader's advice about life rather then make them feel a real tone to the poem.

Narative Passage

"When I met someone in particular, I changed in a big way." - This is my second sentance in the whole essay, and I think that it should have better word choice. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could improve this?
